Sales of the new BAW Calorie pickup truck have started in China, and it has a very affordable price: you can buy a car for only $9,750!
The pickup truck is presented in two versions: with a standard loading platform and an extended one. Accordingly, the dimensions are 5270 x 1900 x 1905 mm and 5520 x 1990 x 1905 mm. The length of the loading platform in the first case is 1595 mm, in the second – 1845 mm (carrying capacity, respectively, 495 and 795 kg). There are no options with a single-row cab: by default, all “calories” have four doors.
Looking at the interior, you can’t say that this is an extra-budget (for its class) car. The BAW Calorie is equipped with two 10.25-inch screens (one is used in the virtual instrument cluster, the second is part of the media system), leather seats, rear parking sensors, remote start (from a smartphone), air conditioning, tire pressure monitoring system, front airbags. The $10,700 top-of-the-line version has a multi-function steering wheel, parking camera, and power mirrors.
Only one engine is provided – a gasoline engine with a volume of 2.0 liters and a power of 144 hp. It is used in various BAW and BAIC vehicles, including the M7 minivan and T6 pickup truck. As for the gearbox, it is a 5-speed “mechanics”.
