The proxy feature of WhatsApp does not affect the privacy of the users.
Proxy features do not give any access to the private messages of the users.
Users can use this feature only in the latest version of the app.
New Delhi. WhatsApp has announced a new proxy feature that will allow users to access the messaging app even when the internet connection is blocked. The purpose of this feature of WhatsApp is to provide a secure connection for users during internet shutdown. WhatsApp has said in a statement that it is our wish that 2023 does not see such an internet shutdown, as we have seen in Iran.
Such restrictions violate people’s human rights and prevent them from receiving immediate assistance. Significantly, WhatsApp has rolled out proxy support on the app for all its users.
If you want to use this feature, then we are going to tell you here how you can use this feature. To use this feature, you have to make sure that you are using the latest version of the app.
How to use proxy feature on WhatsApp?
1- First of all open WhatsApp on your device.
2- Now open the setting from the top right corner.
3- Go to storage here and choose the option of data.
4- After that go to proxy and tap on Use proxy.
5- Now set up proxy and enter proxy address.
6- After saving the address, click on save.
7- Once the proxy is set, you will see a green check.
Proxy can also be banned
It is worth mentioning that if you are not able to send or receive messages even after setting the proxy, then it may be that the proxy has also been banned. In such a situation, you can delete that particular proxy and then set up a new proxy. Apart from this, WhatsApp has revealed that if you have access to the Internet, you can use social media or search engines to find trusted sources who have created proxies.
Messages will be end-to-end encrypted
WhatsApp says that the proxy does not affect the privacy of the users. All messages sent to the proxy server will be end-to-end encrypted. However, the messaging platform has clarified that using third party proxies will share your IP address with proxy providers as they are not provided by WhatsApp itself.
