New Delhi : Deactivate UPI: The trend of Digital Payment (UPI) has grown rapidly and now almost everyone is using Digital Payment. Interestingly, even during the Corona period, digital payment options and touchless transactions have helped a lot in transactions. Since then, digital payments have boomed. And now people use digital payment for many tasks from shopping. Because making UPI payments using mobile is easy. With the UPI payment option, the need to keep cash in your pocket is almost gone.

You can shop from big malls to small grocery stores with the help of your smartphone. So if your mobile ever gets lost somewhere and falls into the wrong hands, it can also empty your bank account. Today we are going to learn how you can easily deactivate UPI account if the phone is lost or stolen.

Follow these steps

If the phone is stolen or lost, the first thing to do is call the customer care executive of your mobile network and ask them to block your mobile number and SIM immediately. This will prevent creation of UPI PIN using your mobile number. To block the SIM, the customer care executive may ask you for details like your full name, billing address, last recharge details, email ID, etc.

Next, you need to call your bank’s helpline number and ask to block your bank account and turn off the UPI service. After this you have to register a lost phone FIR, using which you can resume your SIM and banking services later.
