The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki (Maruti Suzuki) has some big plans for the Indian market. Over the next few years, the Indo-Japanese automaker plans to widen its SUV portfolio with a series of new models. Along with this, there are also plans to bring many new generations and facelift versions of existing products. Maruti Suzuki Jimny
The Indo-Japanese carmaker is all set to roll out its 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV in the month of May, probably in the last week. Customers interested in buying this SUV can book the new SUV online or at authorized dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. This is apparently one of the upcoming Maruti cars that car lovers in the country have been waiting for a long time. Powering the new Maruti SUV is a 1.5-litre, K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 103bhp power and 134Nm torque. This engine can come with 5-speed manual or 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Jimny model lineup will come in Zeta and Alpha variants, which include touchscreen Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system, reverse camera, color MID display and many more features.
Maruti Suzuki MPV
Maruti Suzuki will bring in a rebadged Toyota based premium MPV based on the Innova Highcross. It will be the costliest offering from the Indo-Japanese automaker in India. For power in the MPV, it will use a 2.0-liter petrol engine, which will come with and without hybrid technology. The strong hybrid setup generates 186PS of peak power and 206Nm of torque. At the same time, the petrol engine generates power of 174PS and torque of 205Nm. The new Maruti MPV will be designed on Toyota’s monocoque TNGA-C platform and will come with ADAS, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, second-row seats with ottoman function, connected car Tech will also come with many more features.
Maruti 7-seater SUV
The Indo-Japanese automaker will be entering the premium 7-seater SUV segment in the coming years. If reports are to be believed, the new Maruti three-row SUV will be based on the Grand Vitara and will rival the likes of Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700. This will be the third Nexa offering from Maruti Suzuki this year. The company has not yet disclosed any official details about this model. However, it is likely to come with Toyota’s strong hybrid powertrain along with the naturally aspirated petrol engine. This means that there will be 1.5-litre K15C petrol mild hybrid and 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle strong hybrid powertrains.
