Tata Motors: After launch, the Tata Altroz CNG will compete with the soon-to-be-launched Maruti Baleno CNG and the Toyota Glanza CNG. The hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with a CNG kit.
Tata Motors Upcoming Cars: Tata Motors plans to launch several new models (including EV and CNG versions) for the Indian market. The company will invest heavily for local manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries and BEV technology. Apart from electric mobility solutions, the domestic automaker will also bring CNG versions of its popular models. This will include Altroz CNG, Punch CNG and Nexon CNG. The Tata Altroz CNG and Nexon CNG have already been spied testing.
Tata Altroz CNG will compete with Baleno CNG
However, no information has been given by the carmaker regarding the launch timeline of the models so far. After launch, the Tata Altroz CNG will compete with the soon-to-be-launched Maruti Baleno CNG and the Toyota Glanza CNG. The hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with a CNG kit. On petrol, it could be capable of generating 110bhp power and 140Nm of torque. At the same time, it will generate slightly less power and less torque on CNG as is commonly seen.
Tata Nexon CNG will give competition to Maruti Brezza CNG
The Tata Nexon CNG will directly compete with the Maruti Brezza CNG, which could be launched sometime in 2023. The model could get a factory fitted CNG kit with 1.2 Revotron turbo petrol engine. The turbo-petrol unit in the standard model generates 120bhp power and 170Nm of torque. It can be 15bhp less powerful on CNG than the regular petrol version of the Nexon CNG. It can come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Both the Tata Altroz CNG and the Nexon CNG will be more fuel efficient than their standard petrol versions.
