UP : In order to increase the production and productivity of oilseed crops in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi cabinet in the state has decided to distribute seeds of pulses and oilseed crops free of cost to the farmers for the next 4 years i.e. till the year 2027.
Not only this, under this, farmers will also be trained to get better yield of crops. Kisan Pathshalas will also be organized for this at the state-wide level.
This decision has been taken by approving the proposal of the Agriculture Department in the meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Under this scheme, farmers are being given free seeds of these crops in the current financial year 2023-24 under the free seed distribution scheme of pulses and oilseeds crops.
Now the Yogi cabinet has decided to distribute mini kits of free seeds of oilseed crops and pulses crops in the three crop seasons of Kharif, Rabi and Zayed by the year 2026-27. The Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath aims to increase the area, production and productivity of these crops by providing free seed kits.
Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna in the Uttar Pradesh government headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in oilseed crops, sesame, groundnut, mustard, mustard and linseed seeds will be given free of cost. The same, if we will be given free of cost seeds of pigeon pea, gram, urad, moong, peas and lentils etc. in pulse crops.
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna told that marginal and small marginal farmers receiving PM Kisan Samman Nidhi are eligible in this scheme, these farmers will be given preference and they will be given seed kits free of cost.
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that 25 percent of these seed kits will be reserved for distribution to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe farmers.
He told that two kg of sesame seeds will be available in a mini kit of seeds of oilseed crops. Apart from this, 2 kg mustard seeds and 2 kg mustard seeds will be given.
Apart from this, 1 kg linseed seeds will be given for sowing in 0.1 hectare field. Along with this, 10 kg groundnut seeds will be given for sowing on the same amount of land. Seeds will be supplied from the seeds prepared by the State Seed Stores Corporation.
He has told that the farmer who gets the kit once will not be given the kit again.
He told that urad 4 kg and moong 4 kg will be given in the Zayed season among the seeds given in pulse crops.
In Kharif season, 3 kg of Arhar seed will be given and in Rabi season, 16 kg of Gram seed, 20 kg of Pea seed and 8 kg of Lentil seed will be given. The seed of each crop will be sufficient for sowing on half an acre of land.
