“Until we find new sponsors, we will not be able to carry out attacks. The Japanese don’t have to worry anymore.” Russian hacker group complained about lack of funding

Killnet hacker group, which in early September carried out massive attacks on Japanese public and private websites, including subway sites, and also declared “war on the Japanese government”, no longer plans to attack Japan due to lack of funds. This was reported by the agency Kyodo.

Until we find new sponsors, we will not be able to carry out attacks. The Japanese don’t have to worry anymore“, – told the agency a representative of the group. Killnet stressed that the organization has nothing to do with the Russian authorities, and all funds for the group’s activities were collected through monetary donations. Earlier this week, an entry appeared on the group’s Telegram channel from what is believed to be the founder of Killnet, who stated that he was unable to continue his activities due to lack of funds.

In early September, Japanese public and private sites were subjected to massive DDOS attacks – in total, access to 23 sites of public and government services of the country, including the sites of the Tokyo and Osaka subways, was disrupted. The Killnet group took responsibility for the attacks.
