As a part of this partnership, EVRE will install chargers at eight Signature Global residential properties primarily located in Gurugram, including the Signature Global Mall in Vaishali, Ghaziabad. In addition to setting up the charging stations, EVRE will also undertake the operation and maintenance of the chargers.
In terms of safety, these charging stations will be equipped with technology like real-time monitoring and dynamic load management. Electric vehicle owners will be able to charge their cars, track their movement and make payments through the EVRE app. Under the partnership between the two companies, EVRE will supply an exclusive EV charging service for the real-estate developer for the next ten years.
The Delhi government has announced to provide one charging station every three kilometers as part of its electric vehicle policy. The Delhi government is giving subsidy for setting up charging stations in any private property, mall, hospital or apartment. For this, a single window online service has been started for electric vehicle customers, where customers can get private charging stations installed by applying on their discom portal or by contacting the helpline number.
The Delhi government is providing a subsidy of Rs 6,000 to the first 30,000 applicants for charging stations, after which the customer will have to pay only Rs 2,500 for each charger. The Delhi government has claimed to reduce the cost of charging points by about 70 percent with this incentive.
The tariff rate fixed by the government for electricity consumed through these EV charging points is Rs 4.5 per unit. The single-window portal allows the applicant to schedule the installation as per his/her convenience. Customers can avail subsidy of up to Rs 6,000 for a lightweight EV charger and pay the balance amount (Rs 2,500).
To promote electric vehicles in the national capital Delhi, the Delhi government will soon provide electric scooters to its employees on easy installments. For this, the Delhi government is considering to partner with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a central government undertaking.
Since two-wheelers (scooters and motorcycles) account for two-thirds of new vehicle registrations in Delhi, it is important that this segment switch to electric mode to help bring about a significant reduction in air pollution in the capital. According to official estimates, the Delhi government has more than two lakh employees.
