New Delhi. Micro-blogging platform Twitter said on Thursday that it is testing a new feature. With the help of this feature, it will be easy to share tweets on WhatsApp. With this, users will be able to easily share tweets on the instant-messaging platform. Twitter said that it is replacing the share button with the WhatsApp share icon for Android users as a result of testing the feature.

The company said that this service will be first launched in India. It will initially be available to the platform’s Android app users. After this it will be started in other operating systems and other countries. Twitter has also sought feedback from users about its feature.

WhatsApp button will appear below the tweet
Let us know that users will see the WhatsApp button below the tweet. Users can share the tweet with their contacts or in any WhatsApp group by tapping on the WhatsApp button. It is noteworthy that till now the regular share button gives options like copying the tweet link, creating bookmarks, sending by direct message and sharing on other social media.

The company sought feedback
Twitter India handle tweeted saying that some people may be seeing the WhatsApp share icon on Twitter. Do tell your opinion about this feature, how did you like this feature. The company hopes that this feature can get a good response, after which it will be rolled out in the iOS version as well.

Sharechat also brought this feature
Twitter is not the first social network platform to introduce the Share to WhatsApp button in India. Earlier, ShareChat has also released the WhatsApp button feature in view of the popularity of WhatsApp. It is worth noting that earlier on September 1, Twitter had tested the ‘Edit’ button and the company will start this feature for Twitter Blue users this month. The edit button will allow users to edit the sent tweet within 30 minutes.
