Currently, the new Land Cruiser 300 is being sold in select countries only. The new Land Cruiser is based on the GA-F platform. It adopts the body-on-frame construction style which is one of the biggest highlights of this SUV. Internationally, the Land Cruiser gets two engine options including a 3.5-litre turbo petrol and a 3.3-litre diesel engine. However, only the diesel engine models can be brought to India.

For performance enthusiasts, Toyota Gaju Racing (GR) will also be showcasing the Corolla. However, there are no plans to launch the model here. The GR Corolla uses a single-scroll turbocharged 1.6-litre three-pot engine, also used in the GR Yaris, with power bumped up to 304 bhp and torque up to 370 Nm. It is based on the latest generation Corolla hatchback, which is sold overseas.

Toyota will also showcase its range of strong hybrid models, a plug-in hybrid, a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) and a flex-fuel hybrid. Additionally, Toyota will also showcase the Pure EV with Hydrogen Concept technology. The carmaker hasn’t revealed which cars it will showcase, but they could be the new Prius, the Mirai FCEV and the Corolla flex-fuel hybrid.

Toyota may take the Auto Expo as an opportunity to launch the Urban Cruiser Highrider CNG, bookings for which are already underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has revealed the sales figures for the month of December 2022 and also the annual sales figures for the entire calendar year 2022. The Japanese manufacturer reported vehicle sales of 1,60,352 units in 2022, making it the company’s highest grossing year of the decade.

Toyota registered a growth of 22.6 per cent in sales compared to the year 2021, where the brand sold 1,30,768 units. Toyota’s best year ever in India is still 2012, when Toyota posted the highest ever sales of 1,72,241 units. With the launch of a new strong-hybrid SUV and MPV, the auto giant could be on course for a record year in 2023.
