Toyota to bring rebadged version of Brezza, 7 seater option may be available

Toyota Raize: Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota Kirloskar has registered two new trademarks in India – Rage and Rage Space. The company can use this name for the rebadged version of Maruti Brezza. The Toyota Rage sold in the global market is a compact SUV about 4 meters long. This will help Toyota expand in the fast growing sub-compact SUV segment. It is likely to be launched in 5 and 7 seater versions.

Toyota earlier sold the rebadged version of the Maruti Brezza as the Urban Cruiser. But after Maruti discontinued the old Brezza, Toyota also discontinued it. Although Jai Toyota has now combined the Urban Cruiser branding with the new compact SUV Hyrider. While Toyota Rage will be the rebadged version of Maruti’s new Brezza.

How will be the design?

Compared to the Maruti Brezza, the exterior profile of the Toyota Rage could be slightly different. In which new front grille design and new alloy wheels can be seen. Its interior can also be found similar to the Brezza to a great extent, but there can be a change in its color theme.

Toyota Rage Powertrain

Toyota Rage will use the K15C, 1.5-litre petrol engine from Maruti Brezza, which can produce maximum power of 100.6 PS and torque of 136 Nm. It gets the option of 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. Also, like Maruti’s Brezza, the option of CNG version can also be found in it.

The car will get chrome accented front grille, precision cut alloy wheels, dual LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, rear combination tail lamps, a 9-inch touchscreen, sunroof, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, TFT color display. Also features like MID, leather covered steering wheel and ambient lighting will be available.

who will compete

After launch, Toyota Rage will compete with cars like Tata Nexon, Kia Sonnet, Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue. The best-selling Nexon in the segment is offered with a 1.2L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine option.
