Toyota Taisor: Toyota launches its cheapest SUV, price 7.74 lakh and mileage is tremendous

Toyota Taisor | This SUV, part of the Toyota Taisor Urban Cruiser series, is a badge-engineered version of the Maruti Fronx. It is another new SUV developed based on the agreement between Suzuki and Toyota, as seen previously with the Baleno-Glanza and Vitara-Highrider. The company has also introduced this SUV in a CNG variant.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor launched: Toyota Kirloskar Motor has officially launched the Toyota Taisor for sale as its most affordable SUV in the Indian market. This SUV, part of the Urban Cruiser series, is a badge-engineered version of the Maruti Fronx. In other words, this car is essentially a Fronx, but the company has made some minor modifications to it. The starting price of the Toyota Taisor is set at Rs 7.74 lakh, going up to Rs 13.04 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant.

What’s new in Taisor:

Being a rebadged version, almost all the body panels of the Urban Cruiser Taisor are the same as the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. However, some minor differences include a newly designed front grille with a honeycomb pattern and a newly designed front bumper. The LED DRLs feature a new linear design instead of the previous 3 cubes in the front. The taillights have also been redesigned, although they still feature a full-width light bar in line with the Fronx. Additionally, newly designed 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are available on the Taisor.

Cabin features:

Some changes have been made to the interior of the Taisor. It features dual-tone brown and black upholstery. Additionally, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen is provided with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include auto climate control, a 360-degree camera, head-up display, wireless charger, smartwatch connectivity, etc.

Power and Performance:

The Toyota Taisor offers the option of a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine like the Fronx. The naturally aspirated engine produces 90hp of power and 113Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional AMT. The turbo petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual and optional 6-speed torque converter automatic. Toyota is also offering a CNG option with this SUV.

Safety Features and Color Options:

In terms of safety, this SUV is equipped with 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill-Hold Assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and ISOFIX child seat anchorage. The company has introduced this SUV with multiple color options, including Café White, Enticing Silver, Sportin Red, Lucent Orange, and Gaming Grey. Moreover, the Café White, Enticing Silver, and Sportin Red models are available with a black roof option.

Excellent Mileage:

The company claims that the turbo petrol manual transmission variant of the Toyota Taisor will achieve a mileage of up to 21.5 km/l, while the automatic variant will deliver up to 20.0 km/l. The 1.2-liter petrol engine is capable of delivering a mileage of up to 21.7 km/l in the manual transmission variant and 22.8 km/l in the automatic variant. The CNG variant will provide a maximum mileage of up to 28.5 kilometers per kg.
