Toyota has confirmed that it and its subsidiaries Daihatsu and Hino produced and sold a record number of vehicles worldwide last fiscal year.
Between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023, companies produced 10.73 million vehicles, up 6.6% year-on-year, and sales totaled 10.56 million vehicles, up 1.7% year-on-year.
For the past three years in a row, Toyota has outpaced Volkswagen, which sold only 8.26 million vehicles worldwide last year.
The company confirmed that demand for Toyota, especially in North America, is consistently strong and parts shortages are a thing of the past.
