Toyota Upcoming Cars: Japanese automaker Toyota has recently launched the Innova Highcross MPV in the Indian market. The company has also announced plans to relaunch the Innova Crysta with a diesel engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. According to media reports, apart from these, Toyota will also launch two more models based on the existing Maruti Suzuki vehicles in the country in 2023. One of these will be based on the Fronx and the other car will be based on the Ertiga.
Toyota will launch a new SUV coupe, which will be based on the recently introduced Maruti Suzuki Fronx. There are likely to be many changes in terms of styling, which will give it a different look from the Franks. Design elements of Yaris Cross can be seen in this coupe SUV. The front design could be similar to the Urban Cruiser Hyrider while the rear could feature a Yaris Cross-like design.
It will be offered with two engine options 1.0L, 3-cylinder Boosterjet Turbo Petrol and 1.2L Dualjet Petrol. Suzuki’s mild hybrid technology can be found in both. The turbo engine is capable of producing 100bhp and 147.6Nm while the dualjet unit is capable of producing 90bhp and 113Nm. A 5-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter and AMT can be offered in it.
Toyota will also launch a new 3-row MPV, which will be based on the Ertiga MPV. For those who are not aware, the company is already selling the re-badged Ertiga as Rumion in the South African market. However, the India-spec model could get major design changes and an updated cabin. The company can offer a completely redesigned front and revised rear. Styling elements of the Innova Highcross can be found in it.
