Toyota Innova Hycross: Toyota Innova Hycross ZX and ZX O Bookings Stopped Again

High Demand Forces Toyota to Halt Bookings for the Innova Hycross Again

In a remarkable turn of events, Toyota has once again stopped taking bookings for its popular hybrid car, the Innova Hycross. This marks the second time the company has had to take this action since the vehicle’s launch. The overwhelming demand for this model has significantly outstripped supply, leading to extended waiting periods for customers.

Temporary Halt on Bookings

Toyota has announced a temporary halt on bookings for the top-spec ZX and ZX (O) hybrid variants of the Innova Hycross. This decision was driven by a substantial gap between the demand and supply for these models. The waiting period for these variants has soared from 12 months to over 14 months. As a result, Toyota has decided to pause bookings until the waiting period is reduced.

This is not the first time Toyota has faced this issue. The company previously stopped taking bookings for the Innova Hycross in March last year, only to reopen them in April. Now, after just about 50 days of reopening, the bookings have been suspended again. Toyota has assured customers that bookings will resume once the waiting period becomes more manageable. In the meantime, customers can still book the VX and VX (O) variants of the Innova Hycross.

High Demand for Toyota Innova Hycross

The Toyota Innova Hycross has quickly become one of the most sought-after hybrid cars in the country. Its popularity stems from a combination of appealing features, robust performance, and impressive fuel efficiency.

Features and Specifications

The Innova Hycross boasts a bold and stylish design. It features a chunky bumper, honeycomb mesh grille, sleek headlamps, and an upright profile. The MPV also includes larger 18-inch alloy wheels, thinner body cladding, a tapering roof, a 100mm longer wheelbase, and wraparound LED tail lights. For safety, it comes equipped with six airbags. The Innova Hycross competes with models like the Maruti XL6, Innova Crysta, and Maruti Invicto.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the Innova Hycross offers a 7-inch digital driver display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a JBL sound system, connected car technology, adjustable captain seats, dual 10-inch rear touchscreen systems, ADAS features, ambient lighting, and a sunroof.

Engine Options and Performance

The Innova Hycross is available with multiple engine options. The 2.0-liter petrol engine generates 174PS of power and 205Nm of peak torque and is paired with a CVT gearbox. The 2.0-liter strong hybrid engine, on the other hand, produces 152PS of power and 187Nm of torque, along with a 113PS motor. This variant is equipped with an e-CVT transmission. Toyota claims that the hybrid variant delivers a mileage of 21.1 kmpl.

Pricing

The ex-showroom prices for the non-hybrid variant of the Toyota Innova Hycross range from Rs 19.77 lakh to Rs 19.22 lakh. The prices for the hybrid variants start at Rs 25.97 lakh and go up to Rs 30.98 lakh.

Conclusion

The immense demand for the Toyota Innova Hycross highlights its popularity among Indian consumers. With its advanced features, robust performance, and impressive fuel efficiency, it is no surprise that the vehicle has a long waiting list. Toyota’s decision to halt bookings temporarily is a testament to the car’s success. Customers eagerly await the reopening of bookings for this highly sought-after hybrid car.
