1. Honda CB500 Range Introduced
Japanese motorcycle maker Honda Motorcycle has revealed updated versions of its Honda CB500 motorcycles internationally, including the Honda CB500X, CB500F and CB500R. All three motorcycles get new USD front forks, twin-disc braking set-up at the front and new colorways.
Earlier the CB motorcycle range was being sold with only one disc brake, but now uses twin 296 mm disc brakes with Nissan calipers, which are radially mounted on the CB500R and CB500F. They also get the Showa SFF-BP 41mm inverted fork, which is present on the CB650R. These new units should improve the ride, handling and braking of all the three motorcycles.
2. Vespa Electric Scooter
The trend of electric vehicles in the Indian market is growing rapidly and electric scooters have the largest share in it. With new electric scooter makers entering the market across the country, Piaggio India does not want to be left behind. New as well as old companies are making their move in this segment, Piaggio is also going to be included in this list soon.
Piaggio is planning to bring an electric scooter in the Indian market, recently the company’s MD has informed in an interview. The company currently sells two-wheelers in the Indian market under the Vespa and Aprilia brands, so the company can bring electric scooters through these brands. Piaggio is currently engaged in building out the EV ecosystem in India.
3. TVS Motor Export Record
TVS Motor has crossed one million two wheeler exports in the financial year 2022, the company has touched this figure for the first time in any financial year. The company’s TVS Apache series, HLX series, Raider, Neo series are the largest shipped two wheelers, surpassed by the increasing demand for two wheelers across the globe. Presently the company is present in 80 countries around the world.
Speaking on the occasion, the company’s MD said, “The 1 million export mark is a great milestone. It further cements our path to be a global player in personal mobility solutions. TVS Motor has always been around for quality, technology and customer delight. We have been committed to the industry and will continue to do better in the future. We are now excited to deliver new space with exciting products and new first-in-segment technology.”
4. Honda NT1100 Patent
Bike and scooter manufacturer Honda Motorcycle has recently filed a patent for its Honda NT1100 sports tourer for the Indian market. Globally, the Honda NT1100 is offered as a tourer with longer travel suspension and is based on the CRF1100L Africa Twin.
One thing to note is that while this patent filing is no guarantee of a launch in India, it is possible that Honda Motorcycles may introduce this new tourer in the Indian market, especially since the Africa Twin is already on sale here.
