Top 10 Car Companies Of August: Car companies are getting positive response from buyers in the Indian market. Most of the automakers have registered positive sales growth in the month of August 2022. Maruti Suzuki continues to hold the top position. This Indo-Japanese company has sold the maximum number of cars. At the same time, Tata Motors and Mahindra have registered excellent growth in terms of monthly sales.

Top 10 Car Companies (August 2022)

Maruti Suzuki has sold 1,34,166 vehicles in August 2022, compared to 1,03,187 vehicles in the same month last year. The company registered a year-on-year growth of 30.02 percent in sales and currently holds a market share of 40.87 percent. At the same time, Hyundai secured second place in the list of top 10 car companies in August 2022. The company sold 49,510 vehicles in August 2022 as compared to 46,866 units sold in the same month last year, registering a year-on-year growth of 5.4 per cent. At present, its market share is 15.08 percent.

Tata Motors has registered excellent sales growth in the month of August 2022. It sold 47,166 units last month as compared to 28,018 units sold in August 2021, a massive sales growth of 68.34 per cent. At present, its market share is 14.37 percent. Apart from these, Mahindra and Kia are at the fourth and fifth positions with market share of 9.09% and 6.80% respectively. Mahindra sold 29,852 vehicles in August, compared to 15,973 vehicles in the same month last year. It registered a massive sales of 86.89 percent on a year-on-year basis.

On the other hand, Kia sold 22,322 vehicles last month as compared to 16,750 units sold in August 2021, showing a growth of 33.27% in annual sales. Toyota is at the sixth position with sales of 14,959 units in August 2022 as compared to 12,772 units sold in the same month last year. Its market share is 4.56 percent. At the same time, there is a decline of 30.49 percent in Honda’s sales on a year-on-year basis. It sold 11,177 units in August last year while only 7,769 vehicles were sold in August 2022.

There is also a decline of more than 27% in the sales of Renault. It has sold 7,012 units in August 2022 as compared to 11,177 units sold in the same month last year. Skoda registered a growth of 10.26 per cent in sales with 4,222 vehicles sold in August 2022. It sold 3,829 units in August 2021. At the same time, MG is at 10th position with 3,823 units sold in August. There is a drop of 11.40% in its sales.
