New Delhi: In 2024, we saw a significant rise in value-for-money smartphones, with consumers getting more features for the price they paid compared to previous years. Compared to smartphones from 2023 or 2022, more affordable and feature-rich handsets have become common. Leaving aside brands like Apple and Samsung, nearly every smartphone manufacturer has introduced new budget-friendly models. It seems likely that the trend will continue into 2025. In December 2024, many budget and value-for-money smartphones were launched, and we can expect the same in January 2025.

Phones Launching in January 2025

The year 2025 is expected to be even better than 2024 in terms of smartphone launches, with several new series set to arrive. Let’s take a look at some of the budget phones expected to be released in January 2025.

Handsets Priced Below Rs 15,000

Motorola recently launched the Moto G05 and Moto G15 in December, priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000. It’s likely that Motorola will continue to release similar budget-friendly handsets in the first week of January 2025, though the company has not yet confirmed any details.

Redmi is also set to launch the Redmi 14C 5G in this price range, expected to be priced between Rs 11,000 and Rs 12,000. The phone may feature a 6.68-inch display and be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. It will likely support dual 5G SIM cards and come with a 5,160mAh battery.

Handsets Priced Below Rs 20,000

The POCO X7 Neo series, known for offering good value for money, is expected to launch in mid-January. Infinix is also rumored to launch a handset in this price range, but details are unclear.

Handsets Priced Between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000

Several notable series are expected to launch in this price range. One of them is the Realme 14 Pro, which is expected to offer flagship-like features. It may include a 6.7-inch micro-quad-curved AMOLED screen and be powered by the Snapdragon 7S Gen 3 chipset. The phone may also feature a PepsiCo camera and a color-changing back. Additionally, it is expected to have an IP69 rating for water and dust protection.

The POCO X7 series may also introduce high-end models in this price segment, featuring a 6,550mAh battery and a dual-camera setup. These models are expected to launch around mid-January as well.

Handsets Priced Between Rs 30,000 and Rs 50,000

The OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R are expected to launch in early January. The OnePlus 13 may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 2K resolution, a 50MP Hasselblad triple camera system, and a 6,000mAh battery. The OnePlus 13R is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP primary camera, and a 6,000mAh battery with 80W charging support.

In this range, the OPPO Reno13 5G series will also be launched. The series will include the OPPO Reno13 5G and OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G, both powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset. They may feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones are expected to have a 50MP main camera and a 5,640mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.

Handsets Priced Above Rs 75,000

Samsung is expected to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, 2025. The series will likely include the Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Galaxy S25 is expected to feature a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It may include a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP front camera. The S25 Plus and S25 Slim models are expected to have a 6.6-inch display, while the S25 Ultra is expected to sport a 200MP main camera and a 50MP secondary camera. The price of the Galaxy S25 is expected to start at Rs 75,000.
