Tips to use Emojis in Google Docs

Google Docs, along with Google Chrome, Google Drive and Gmail, are part of the tech giant’s mostly free product (with limited access). Offering powerful tools will enable the user to keep people engaged with the Google ecosystem in a more simplified manner.

Google Docs have become an important part of our working lives – but still there is so much to discover and learn about the platform. Inserting emojis into the document used to be a bit difficult, but now it has become much smoother.

You can tweak the emojis with the new update that was recently rolled out. With the new update, you can search for and insert the popular smileys as you type, Google announced in an official blog post.

To insert the emoji you need to type “@” and follow the text for the type of emoji you’re looking forward to like smile, anger, dog, butterfly and more.

As soon as you type, you will get a drop-down menu that will give you the selected reference emojis, where you can choose the one you want to insert without taking much time.

Search engine giant Google itself introduced this feature for adding emojis to documents earlier this year. And the company said it added the characters after receiving feedback on providing limited formal opportunities for expression.

Google Docs is part of the tech giant’s mostly free product (with limited access) along with Google Chrome, Google Drive and Gmail. Offering powerful tools will enable the user to engage people with the Google ecosystem in an easier way. That’s one of the reasons why Chrome is the world’s most popular web browser, holding 66% of the desktop browser market share.

Chrome, along with Google search, has helped feed Google’s top revenue driver – online ad sales.
