The driver’s feet have also been given good protection in this SUV. The XUV700 was also subjected to a side impact barrier crash test, but the detailed crash test report by Global NCAP has not been disclosed.
The safety of Skoda Kushak is also great

The side impact pole test gives the driver good head and groin protection, but average chest protection. The NCAP has described its footwell as stable.
child occupant protection
Child protection is very important in any SUV. If the SUV does not have a good child protection rating, it may be unsafe for children. Skoda Kushak is slightly ahead of XUV700 in terms of child occupant protection. It scored an overall score of 42 out of 49 and has a 5-star child occupant protection rating. It is the first mass market car in India to get such a rating. The XUV700 is also not far behind, scoring 41.66 out of 49, but only getting a 4-star child protection rating.
Bodyshell and electronic stability
Both the SUVs performed well in terms of bodyshell strength and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Global NCAP crashes cars at a speed of 64 kmph. Electronic stability test was optional for the XUV700, introduced in its mid-spec AX5 variant, but now electronic stability control will be available as standard across all variants.
Both the SUVs have scored 5-stars for the safety of adult passengers. Kushak was tested more rigorously under the new Global NCAP protocol. The Kushak also scored better than Mahindra’s SUV in terms of child protection and also got an additional rating for the same. This makes the Skoda Kushaq a safer option out of the two, albeit by a small margin.
