This season there will be 45 lakh marriages in the country, business worth Rs 5.5 lakh crore will be done

The business community of the entire country including Delhi is excited about the wedding season. In fact, in this season running from January 15 to July 15, it is estimated that 45 lakh marriages will take place in the country. It is estimated that there will be a business of about Rs 5.5 lakh crore in these weddings taking place in the country.

This estimate has been made by CAT Research and Trade Development Society, the research arm of Confederation of All India Traders (CAT), the country’s business organization, based on conversations with traders and service providers from 30 different cities in different states of the country.

There will be business worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore in Delhi alone

National President of Confederation of All India Traders BC Bhartia and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that there is a possibility of more than 4 lakh marriages in this wedding season in Delhi alone, which will generate business revenue of about Rs 1.5 lakh crore. Last year, in the marriage season that ended on December 14, about 35 lakh marriages took place, the expenditure of which was estimated at Rs 4.25 lakh crore.

This is how business will grow

During this marriage season, it is estimated that the per marriage cost of approximately 5 lakh marriages will be ₹ 3 lakh, while the per marriage cost of approximately 10 lakh marriages will be approximately ₹ 6 lakh. Additionally, the estimated cost of 10 lakh marriages will be ₹ 10 lakh per marriage, while the cost of 10 lakh marriages will be ₹ 15 lakh per marriage. Whereas 6 lakh marriages are expected to take place at a cost of ₹ 25 lakh. Apart from this, 60 thousand marriages whose cost will be ₹ 50 lakh per marriage, and 40 thousand marriages whose cost will be more than ₹ 1 crore.

Bhartia and Khandelwal said that in view of this wedding demand, the concerned traders across the country have done adequate stocking of wedding related items so that the choice and demand of the customers can be met. He said that for every marriage, about 20 percent of the expenses go to the bride and groom’s side, while 80 percent of the expenses go to the third party agencies involved in organizing the wedding.

Both business leaders said that before the wedding season, there is a lot of business in home repair and painting. Apart from this, Jewellery, Sarees, Lehenga-Chunari, Furniture, Readymade Garments, Fabrics, Footwear, Wedding and Auspicious Cards, Dry Fruits, Sweets, Fruits, Pooja Wear, Grocery, Cereals, Decorative Textiles, Home Decor, Electrical Utilities, Electronics , and various gift items etc. are in highest demand which are expected to get huge business in that season.
