New Delhi:Blue Tick Rollout: Blue ticks on popular microblogging platform Twitter are no longer limited to celebrities. Anyone can purchase a blue tick by paying for the company’s Twitter Blue subscription service. Elon Musk has officially launched the Blue Tick program and now users will start getting Blue Ticks after making payments on the web. The Twitter Blue subscription service is currently launched only on the web platform and will be extended to the mobile platform in the next few weeks.
Business accounts will now display a golden colored tick instead of a blue tick and this change has been applied to multiple accounts. Also, a gray colored badge may appear on accounts related to government departments.
How much does Twitter Blue Tick cost?
Public figures, celebrities and users will see a blue tick in front of their account. But, only if they have paid for a Twitter Blue subscription. It is priced at $8 (around Rs. 660) on the web platform. At the same time, Apple iPhone users will have to pay $11 (around Rs. 908) for this subscription.
The blue tick will be removed from all old accounts
Responding to Twitter users, Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk said that blue ticks will be removed from all old accounts in the coming months. That means the blue tick will appear only on those accounts which have paid the company.

Users with a Twitter Blue subscription will show up above the rest in replies, mentions, and searches, in addition to a blue badge on their account. In addition, they will see half as many ads as other users. These users will be given the option to share large videos and will be given early access to new features with ‘Twitter Blue Labs’. These features are a work in progress and rollout will take time.
The option to purchase a Twitter Blue subscription on the web platform is currently only available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Twitter will roll it out to other markets in the next few days. That is, Indian users may have to wait for a few days and currently the price of Twitter Blue is not announced here. Blue Tick will be available for purchase after rollout.
