if you Spam Calls If you are troubled by this, then there is good news for you from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). TRAI is now going to introduce Caller ID facility like Truecaller. TRAI has been working on such a concept, through which the name of the caller in someone’s phone will be known by the KYC done on his SIM.
There will be a reduction in the cases of spam calls
After installing the Truecaller App, when you receive a call, the name of the caller is displayed on the screen, even if that person’s name is not included in the contact list. Although the name that Truecaller shows is not based on KYC, rather this app displays the name, which is set by the user himself. But after the finalization of this new framework of TRAI, you will also see the user’s KYC name on your phone. If experts are to be believed, the coming of this feature will reduce the increasing cases of spam and fraud calls.
Users will be able to avoid Fake Calls
Let us tell you that the Department of Telecom has also asked TRAI to start work on it. TRAI Chairman PD Vaghela said that the consultation on this can start in the next few months. Vaghela said that ‘we have got a reference in this matter and soon we will start work. After the introduction of this feature, users will be able to avoid fake calls.
Truecaller also welcomed
Truecaller has also welcomed this initiative of the government. A spokesperson for this app said that we welcome all the work in the mission of making communication safe and effective. He further added that the identification of the number is very important to eliminate the threat of spam and scam calls. With the help of Truecaller, we have been working on this important mission for the last 13 years.
He further said that we appreciate this decision of TRAI and would like to reiterate that we have been supporting such initiatives and we will continue to support efforts to make communication secure in future also.
