Affordable SUV under 6 lakh in India: Tata Nexon has been the best selling SUV in the country in July 2022. But there is another Tata car, which beat the popular vehicles like Brezza and Sonnet in terms of sales. It has been the fourth best selling SUV in the country in terms of sales last month. The special thing is that its price is also less than Rs 6 lakh and in terms of safety, it comes with a 5 star rating. The car we are talking about is none other than the Tata Punch SUV.

A total of 11,007
units of Tata Punch SUV have been sold last month. This is the highest monthly sales of this SUV till date. In the SUV segment, only Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Venue have sold more than this. Talking about the price, the price of Tata Punch starts from Rs 5.83 Lakh and goes up to Rs 9.49 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Engine and Transmission
The Tata Punch gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine (86PS/113Nm) as the Altroz. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT. The SUV is available in a total of four trims: Pure, Adventure, Finished and Creative. The 187mm ground clearance of the Tata Punch shows that it can be taken on rough terrains as well.

Talking about the 5 star safety rating
features, this micro SUV gets a 7-inch touchscreen system, semi-digital instrument cluster, auto AC, automatic headlights, connected car tech and cruise control. The special thing is that this car has also got a 5 star safety rating in the crash test.

Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and a rear parking camera. It competes with vehicles like Mahindra KUV100 NXT and Maruti Ignis. But looking at the price, it also competes with the Nissan Magnite and the Renault Chiger.
