This 115 year old bike sold for Rs 5.91 crore, people got dizzy

Bidding on used bikes and cars is a very old practice. In such a situation, the 1908 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was auctioned for $ 935,000 (Rs 5.91 crore). With this, it became the most expensive bike ever sold at auction.

The auction was conducted by Macum Auctions in Las Vegas on January 28, reports Vintageent, a website that tracks vintage motorcycle sales. A photo of the strapped tank motorcycle was posted to Facebook by Mecum Auctions, where it has garnered over 8,000 likes and close to 800 comments.

According to a Fox Business report, the model was named Strap Tank. Its oil and fuel tanks were attached to the frame with nickel-plated steel straps.

Greg Arnold, motorcycle division manager at Macum Auctions, said, “We marketed the bike well and Harley is the most well-known American motorcycle brand ever, so we thought it would do well at auction, but obviously whenever you The most expensive bike ever sold, you find yourself in for a surprise.”

Arnold said the motorcycle had been restored but still had several parts, including the tank, wheels, seat cover and engine belt pulley. Fox Business reports that the bike was found in a Wisconsin barn in 1941 by David Uhlin, who kept it for the next 66 years.

The Morning Express stated that out of 450 pieces made by the company in 1908, only 12 models of the motorcycle are known to be still available in the world. A 1907 strap tank sold for $715,000 at the same auction, but was not as expensive as the 1908 model because it had never been restored.
