Post Office Small Saving Scheme: The Central Government had increased the interest of Small Savings Scheme even before the beginning of the new year. Only the interest of Public Provident Fund and Sukanya Samridhi Yojana has not been changed, all other schemes have been changed. Interest ranging from 6.5 percent to 7 percent is being given on the FD of the post office.
Earlier, during the quarter of September 2022 also, the government had changed the interest of these small savings schemes. However, instead of increasing the interest of all small savings schemes, only a few savings schemes were increased. At the same time, except for two schemes, the interest of all has been increased. Banks increased FD rates
Since the Reserve Bank increased the repo rate in the year 2022, private and public sector banks have increased their Fixed Deposit rates. Some banks are giving interest up to 7% while some NFSC banks are giving interest up to 9%. PNB, SBI, HDFC, ICICI, BOB and other banks have increased the interest on their fixed deposits in the last year itself.
