1. Panoramic Sunroof
While the new Maruti Brezza becomes the first Maruti car to feature a sunroof, the Grand Vitara is the first to feature a panoramic sunroof. While it will be available only in the top-spec Alpha trim of the mild-hybrid lineup, the company will offer it as standard with the strong-hybrid variant of the SUV.
2. Digital Drive Display
Another feature that is going to be available to a Maruti car for the first time is the digital driver display. The robust-hybrid variants (Zeta+ and Alpha+) of the 2022 Grand Vitara get a 7-inch color display for the instrument cluster, which will provide key information including speed and odometer readings.
3. Strong-Hybrid Powertrain
The Maruti Grand Vitara also marks Maruti’s first attempt at offering a self-charging hybrid (also known as strong-hybrid) powertrain. It will be used with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that makes 80 bhp and 141 Nm of torque.
With the help of the accompanying electric motor, its combined power becomes 115 bhp. According to Maruti, the strong-hybrid version of the SUV can cover 40 percent of the distance and 60 percent of the time in either electric or zero-emission mode. 4. Quilted Leatherette Seat
Along with the Grand Vitara, Maruti is also offering quilted leatherette upholstery for the first time. It looks premium and is usually only offered in luxury/premium cars. However, it is only available on the top-spec Alpha and Alpha+ trims of the mild and strong-hybrid lineup of SUVs.
5. All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Option
The all-wheel drivetrain option has been given in Maruti’s new compact SUV. However, it is only available in the mild-hybrid MT variant, which is only offered with the top-spec Alpha trim. In contrast, the Maruti Gypsy and the previous Grand Vitara SUV offered a 4×4 drivetrain.
