Intel may introduce new Raptor Lake processors on September 27 or 28.
The Intel Innovation event is scheduled for these dates. In general, it is devoted to completely different products. The company says the event is for developers specializing in artificial intelligence, client computing, cloud, 5G, IoT, security, and more. However, a year ago, just at the same event, Intel introduced Alder Lake processors.
The announcement, of course, can be nominal, but still, at least some details can be told to us. Recall, according to all available data, Raptor Lake processors will be more of an improved version of Alder Lake than a completely new generation. They will retain the 10 nm process technology, eight large cores in the maximum configuration, and the same microarchitecture for small cores. But the number of small cores will double, and the microarchitecture of large ones will also change. In addition, all the latest data indicates that the new CPUs will run at even higher frequencies.
