In February 2023, where car companies registered excellent sales of their models, there were some models which were not liked by the customers at all. Because of this not even a single unit could be sold. Here we are telling you about some such car models whose sales were zero in February 2023.
Nissan’s Kicks compact SUV was the worst performer in terms of sales. The SUV competes against the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in its segment but has been underperforming for a few years in terms of sales figures.
Nissan is selling only two models in India which include Nissan Kicks and Magnite. A major chunk of Nissan’s sales depend on the Magnite. Due to the poor performance of Kicks, the company is planning to replace it with a new SUV.
Recently the company has revealed its three new SUV models – X Trail, Qashqai and Juke, which are expected to be launched in the market by the end of this year. All these cars will be equipped with hybrid engines. Nissan is building these cars on the new CMF-B platform.
The next worst performing cars were the Honda Jazz and the WR-V. Sales of both the cars were recorded at zero units in February 2023. The company has not given any major update in both the cars for a long time. The company may discontinue both the models due to the Real Time Emission (RDE) norms coming into effect from April 1, 2023.
According to the news, the company can launch an SUV equipped with 1.5-liter naturally aspirated and 1.5-liter strong hybrid engines based on the platform of the new Honda City. Currently, Honda mainly sells the City and Amaze sedans in the Indian market. A total of 6,086 units of the City and Amaze were sold last month.
Hyundai’s electric SUV Kona is not able to show amazing in the Indian market. Not a single unit of Hyundai Kona was sold in February 2023. In comparison, the sales of the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV have been stupendous. Tata Nexon EV is selling around 3,000 units every month and MG ZS EV is selling 300 units.
Hyundai may very soon launch the updated model of the Kona EV in India. Recently the company has unveiled the 2023 Kona EV. It is expected to launch in India in the second half of this year.
