These 7-seater SUVs are coming soon to make a splash in India, will get modern features with more space

1. Toyota Innova Highcross

Toyota Innova Crysta has been on sale in the Indian market for a long time and is a popular Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). In the category of 7-seater MPV, Toyota Innova is most liked. However, now the company is preparing to launch Innova Highcross to give a new alternative to its Innova lineup.

The Innova Highcross will be a high-end variant of the Innova Crysta and will offer premium comfort and features to the passengers. As per reports, the Innova Highcross will be built on a monocoque chassis instead of a ladder frame chassis, which will also improve its stability. Apart from this, the option of front wheel drive powertrain will also be available with the petrol engine.

2. Maruti’s MPV based on Innova Highcross

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have launched several models in the Indian market under the partnership. After launching a hybrid SUV based on the Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider, Maruti Suzuki is now gearing up to launch an SUV based on the Toyota Innova Highcross. The technology, features and engine of this MPV from Maruti will be inspired by the Innova Highcross, but the exterior design may be different.

3. Force Gurkha 5-Door

The new Force Gurkha is currently being sold in a 3-door model. Because of this only 4-seats are available for the passengers. Mahindra is also preparing to bring a 5-door variant of Thar and the company had announced to launch it in 2023-2024. In such a situation, the force is preparing to update its Gurkha SUV as well. Very soon a three row seat variant of the Force Gurkha will be brought in the market which will seat six or seven people.

4. MPV based on Citroen C3

Recently, a 7-seater variant of the Citron C3 SUV was spotted during testing. At present, the C3 is the most affordable SUV in the company’s lineup. The 7-seater variant of the Citroen C3 can be brought in the top trim which will be more expensive than the 5-seater variant. In the Citroen C3 7-seater, the company can offer an automatic gearbox with a turbocharged engine.

5. Nissan X-Trail

After Maruti and Toyota, now Nissan is also preparing to enter the race of hybrid models in India. Currently, Nissan is selling the fourth generation model of the X-Trail SUV. The company recently took the wraps off the 7 seater variant of the X-Trail in India.

The Nissan X-Trail could be offered with a petrol-hybrid engine. The new models of the Nissan X-Trail are built on the CMF-C platform. It is being sold overseas with a 2.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid powertrain.
