Audio videos or any important files can be kept safe through privacy features in the smartphone. Apart from this, you can also get rid of notifications of unnecessary ads. If the phone gets stolen, Google has added security features like theft detection lock to keep the data safe. Let’s know about it in detail.
1. If the phone is stolen, the data will remain safe
Google has added many new security features for smartphone users regarding data safety. “Theft Detection Lock” is a special feature present in Android devices, which detects the action of snatching the phone from the screen. As soon as such an action happens, the phone gets locked automatically, so that the thief cannot access your data.
Apart from this, there is another great feature – offline device lock, which provides security even when the phone is disconnected from the internet. If you want, you can lock the phone from your laptop or any other device with the help of remote lock through your Google account.
2. You will get rid of unwanted advertisements
Google shows you ads by tracking your Google account’s search history and activity. Sometimes these ads become so many that your browsing and app experience gets spoiled. Although it is not possible to stop these ads completely, they can definitely be controlled.
For this, you can delete or reset the Advertising ID associated with your Google account. By doing this, Google will not be able to track your old behavior and the nature of advertisements will change.
3. Block lock screen notifications
Have you ever noticed that your bank OTP or personal messages are visible on the lock screen? This can put your privacy at risk, especially when the phone is in someone else’s hands. To avoid this situation, you can show only the app icon in the lock screen notification and hide the content.
