Hero Electric sold the highest number of two wheeler electric vehicles in the country. The company has been able to sell 13,023 units of electric scooters in March 2022, a growth of 149 per cent as compared to 5,235 units sold in March 2021. Last month, Ola Electric registered sales of 9,127 units, surpassing Okinawa and Ampere. This stood at 134 per cent more than the 3,907 units sold in February 2021.
Okinawa Autotech ranked third in the sales of electric scooters with 8,284 units sold last month. This was 441 per cent higher as against the 1,530 units sold in March 2021.
Ampere sold 6,338 units of electric scooters in March 2022, registering a year-on-year growth of 574 percent. In March 2021, the company’s sales were only 941 units. On the other hand, March 2022 sales grew by 47 percent as compared to 4,304 units sold in February 2022.
A growing demand for electric two-wheelers was also reported by TVS Motor. The company sold 2,267 units of the iQube electric scooter last month, registering an increase of 749 per cent as compared to 267 units sold in March 2021. Monthly sales increased by 53 per cent as compared to 1,482 units sold in February 2022.
Ather Energy sales grew by 109 per cent to 2,226 units in March 2022 from 1,064 units in March 2021. It also saw a marginal monthly increase as compared to 2,232 units sold in February 2022. The demand for Ather 450X registered a huge growth in March 2022. The company rolled out 25,000 electric scooters last month.
The sales of Revolt electric bikes have grown significantly on a year-on-year basis. The sales which were only 53 units in March 2021 increased by 2,558 per cent to 1,409 units in March 2022. Monthly sales increased by 25 per cent as compared to 1,128 units sold in February 2022.
