There will be more unmanned vehicles in the US. Waymo received permission to use such cars in a new large region

Waymo is gradually expanding the geography of its fully unmanned vehicles.

The California Public Utilities Commission granted the company a permit that allows it to carry passengers in test vehicles without a driver behind the wheel. Recall that in this mode, the Waymo One taxi service has been operating in the suburbs of Phoenix for several years.

Now the range of the company’s cars will expand significantly, as Waymo now has the right to offer driverless rides throughout San Francisco, in parts of Daly City, as well as in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo -Alto and Sunnyvale. True, in these regions the company cannot yet charge for travel, so there will not be a commercial service in these cities yet.
