Growth in foreign markets
Sources said that the Malaysia exchange gained 2.15 per cent, while the Chicago exchange has seen a rise of 1.5 per cent. In the midst of a booming environment in the foreign markets, the prices of almost all edible oils remained high due to shortage of edible oils.

loss to importers
According to sources, the importers of soybean and palmolein are facing a loss of around Rs 300 per quintal in importing these oils as they are much cheaper than the indigenous oil. The gap between indigenous oils and imported oils is widening and imported oils are becoming costlier.
