The press service of the Ministry of Digital Development stated that there are still no plans to block access to YouTube video hosting in Russia. The statement came after Google blocked the accounts of the Federation Council and the Vmeste-RF TV channel on YouTube.
The ministry recalled that on September 28, its head, Maksut Shadayev, at a meeting with regional journalists, already reported that YouTube was not planned to be blocked in Russia. “This statement remains the most relevant so far, there is no new information,” the press service answered a question about the possibility of blocking the site.

Alexey Pushkov, Head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media Today declared, which will turn to Roskomnadzor and the Prosecutor General’s Office with a request to consider the possibility of blocking YouTube in Russia. Aleksey Pushkov clarified that it could be a temporary blocking “as a last warning.”
