The Russian authorities refused to finance the development of domestic analogues of TikTok and Instagram*. As reported in the “road map” of the project “New system-wide software”, these services will not receive money.
The final version of the “map” included the mail service “Mail 2.0”, VK Teams, as well as several variations of the Zoom service, but they can not count on grants, but only on preferential loans. The Ministry of Digital Development stated that the projects will be created by developers at their own expense, since grant support for this area is not considered the best solution.
Note that earlier reported about preparing to create an alternative mobile OS based on Android. It is intended for general users. However, it is not yet known when at least a beta version will appear.
*Instagram belongs to Meta, which is recognized as an extremist company in Russia, its activities are prohibited
