Lyricist Prashant Pandey, a resident of Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, won the Best Lystem Award for the song ‘O Sajni Re …’ from Kiran Rao’s film ‘Laid Ladies’ at the ‘2025 International Indian Film Academy’ (IIFA) Awards held in Jaipur. On this achievement, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Jagdish Deora congratulated Prashant and wished him a bright future.

Devendra Pandey, father of Prashant Pandey, a resident of Suwasra in the district, is a government teacher, while mother Manjula Pandey is an Anganwadi worker. After completing his schooling, Prashant earned a degree in software engineering. His dream was to become a singer, but when this was not possible, he started a job in a private company. During this time he kept writing songs and uploaded on social media. Her talent was recognized by a music director of the film industry and she got a chance to write a song in ‘Missing Ladies’. Released in 2024, the song ‘Sajni’ was one of the top songs of the year. In IIFA, Prashant received the Best Lyricist Award for ‘Sajni’, while composer Ram Sampat received the best music honor.

The film ‘Lapat Ladies’ made a total of 10 awards in this ceremony. Directed by Kiran Rao, the film won a total of 10 awards including Best Film, Best Directing. The Indian film, selected for the Oscar, won many major categories. Kiran Rao received the Best Director and Nitanshi Goyal received the Best Actress (lead role) award.
