The sixth version of the Honda CR-V, a medium-sized front- or all-wheel drive crossover, is being prepared for release. The novelty is positioned as a universal car for different categories of users. The sixth “release” Honda CR-V is based on its own CR-V platform with a transversely mounted engine and a monocoque body. High-strength and ultra-high-strength steel grades are used in the design.

As a power plant, gasoline engines or hybrids are offered. In the first case, you can optionally install a Real Time AWD all-wheel drive transmission with a multi-plate center clutch, which transfers half of the thrust to the rear wheels.

The interior of the car is designed for 5 people. The instrument panel includes an analog speedometer and a digital center console screen with touch pad, infotainment functions and climate control unit. A nine-liter “glove box” is also noted.

The machine uses an independent, spring-lever MacPherson type suspension with hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bar. There is an electric power steering. The brake system is hydraulic, the front brakes are ventilated disc brakes, the rear ones are disc brakes.

The dimensions of the car are:

    • length – 4694 mm
    • width – 1864 mm
    • height – 1692 mm
    • Wheelbase – 2700 mm
    • Ground clearance – 208 mm.

Security systems include 10 airbags. There are LED optics, heated and power mirrors, a blind spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control and much more.

Sart sales are expected before the end of this year in the US. Prices are not indicated.

And earlier it became known that Honda and Sony are planning jointly produce self-driving electric vehicles. To do this, it is planned to create a joint venture.
