The Sberbank website stopped opening in Safari. What to do

At the beginning of the week, Sberbank announced that it was transferring the official website of Sberbank to a Russian security certificate issued by the Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation (Mintsifry of Russia).

Yesterday, the Sberbank website became inaccessible to many users. Without additional installation of a special certificate, Chrome, Opera and Firefox report that the site can be used by scammers, but offer to bypass this ban at your own risk. Safari throws an error and under no circumstances loads the bank’s main page. At the same time, Sberbank Online works without restrictions.

To avoid the error, you can manually install the Mintsifra certificate. Installation instructions for iOS:

    • Go to State Services website and in the iOS section, download the profile to install on iOS, and then click the Allow button
    • Open Settings > Profile downloaded > Install
    • Enter your iPhone passcode and click Install again
    • Go to Settings > General > Certificate Trust
    • Activate the toggle switch near Russian Trusted Root CA
