AMD has finally lifted the ban on publishing reviews of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor. We got acquainted with the first major review yet yesterdayso in general everything was clear with the processor.
But the tests that have appeared today are worthy of special mention. More precisely, in fact, only one test. The authors of the super popular channel Linus Tech Tips tested the CPU in a number of games, including the most demanding game at the moment – Microsoft Flight Simulation.
In absentia, one would think that a game that can bring any modern video card to its knees should depend minimally on the processor. And in general, it is, because the Core i9-12900K performs at the level of a regular Ryzen 7 5800X, despite the fact that in many games the Intel flagship is noticeably faster.
However, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D showed its full potential just in this game. As you can see, it is almost 50% faster than the Ryzen 7 5800X and Core i9-12900KS and 22% faster than the extreme Core i9-12900KS! The result is simply incredible, and is due only to the additional cache memory of the new CPU, because there is nothing else new with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
Thus, in some scenarios, 3D V-Cache plays a very significant role, and AMD may well make this solution the norm for its processors in the future.
