An unannounced processor developed by HiSilicon, a subsidiary of HUAWEI, was spotted in the Geekbench 6.2 benchmark database. It is assumed that this is a Kunpeng series server chip, and its performance is comparable to its counterparts from AMD and Intel.
This is probably a test sample since it only has one core and two threads. Moreover, it operates at a frequency of 2.9 GHz. And with single-core performance of 1527 points, this chip can compete with AMD Epyc 7413 on Zen 3 architecture, which scores 1538 points in the same mode, and Intel Xeon E-2136 (1553 points). At the same time, there are much more productive AMD Epyc 9554 (1957 points) and Intel Xeon w9-3495X (2081 points). According to preliminary information, this server processor uses the Taishan V120 core, similar to the mobile Kirin 9000s. In addition, it is manufactured using a 7-nanometer process technology.
It is not yet clear whether the new processor will be suitable for training neural networks and running AI services, which is now a top priority for many companies.
