The Izvestia publication, citing data from a partner of several electronics manufacturers, published data on smartphone sales on the Russian market in the first months of 2024. The first place in the “popular” rating is now occupied by a Chinese brand, but Apple has a chance to top the list this year.
According to analysts , the share of Apple gadgets in online sales is now 14% in units, while sales volume has increased by almost 60% over the year. TECNO has a similar figure, with which the American brand shares second place, while realme remains the leader (19%). Representatives of MTS, in turn, claim that in the Russian market as a whole (online and offline), Apple is now in fifth place with a share of 10% in volume terms.
Among the reasons that allowed Apple to improve its position in 2024, experts highlight the commitment of users to the iOS operating system and the Apple ecosystem. In addition, supply now exceeds demand, causing devices to become cheaper and more attractive to buyers. Another driver of sales was holidays – during this period, Apple equipment is often chosen as a gift.
Experts note that the Apple company has a chance to become the leader of the Russian market this year – at least in terms of sales of individual models. For example, at one time the iPhone 5s was the best-selling smartphone in the Russian Federation for almost a year. Stability of supply, cost and the company’s loyalty to Russian users will play an important role.
