Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal confirmed on Twitter that the new Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters will go on sale on December 15 this year.
A few months ago, Ola Electric introduced its Ola S1 and S1 Pro, which were supposed to go on sale in October, but due to a shortage of microcircuits, the start of sales was postponed: first to November 30, and then to the very end of the year.
Bhavish Aggarwal added that during this time the company was able to increase the pace of production of scooters, so all pre-orders should be completed as soon as possible. In the first 24 hours after the start of accepting pre-orders, more than 100,000 people lined up. The company claims that this level of pre-ordering automatically makes Ola the most popular electric scooter in the world. No other new product from this category could boast of such results. Moreover, the company has already received more than 1 million orders for its scooters so far.
The Ola S1 and S1 Pro come with a 7-inch touchscreen that displays ride modes and range. The electric scooter has three modes – Normal, Sport and Hyper. The Ola S1 has a range of up to 121 km, while the S1 Pro has a range of 181 km. The maximum speed of the first reaches 90 km / h, and the second – 115 km / h. Ola has pledged to build its Hypercharger network across the country, which will allow users to refill its 75km range in just 15 minutes.
The Ola S1 starts at $ 1,348 and the S1 Pro starts at $ 1,753.
