During the third week of July, AvtoVAZ dealers sold 2,607 new Lada cars, which allowed the brand to take 31.8% of the total volume of the Russian car market.
The last time Lada’s market share exceeded 30% was back in 2007, when it was 30.1%. By 2014, the market share of Lada dropped to a minimum of 15%.
In general, for the first half of 2022, Lada accounted for 20.8% of all cars sold in Russia. The share of Lada began to actively increase in recent weeks: 27.9% in the first week of July, 29% in the second week and 31.8% in the third week of the current month.
The reason for this growth was the resumption of production of Lada cars in simplified configurations without ABS and airbags. Initially, the production of Granta was launched, and then Lada Niva Legend and Lada Largus.
