The Jeep Wrangler is now a hybrid only. Acceptance of pre-orders began in Europe

Jeep will only offer the new Wrangler SUV in Europe in PHEV configuration starting in 2022. Jeep announced earlier this year that it would be removing the two-door Wrangler from its European lineup, and now another change has been announced.

Europeans will only be offered the Wrangler 4xe four-door plug-in hybrid, for which pre-orders are open at Jeep showrooms in Italy, Spain, Belgium and Serbia. More countries will start accepting pre-orders in December.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The total power is 375 hp. It allows you to travel up to 50 km only on electric traction.

Standard equipment now includes automatic high beams, collision warning with emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, a rearview camera, and front and rear parking assistance. Jeep also offers a Performance Parts Gorilla Glass windshield, which comes standard on the Rubicon trim and is an option on the Sahara.

Jeep also gets new factory colors – Silver Zynith Metallic Clear Coat and High Velocity Metallic Clear Coat, as well as Tuscadero and Gobi special colors. Jeep will also equip the SUV with a new Sunrider convertible top.
