Apple will release new iPhones and new versions of its mobile operating systems this year. According to recent reports, iOS 17 will not support a number of smartphones that are supported by iOS 16.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, as well as the iPhone X, will disappear from the list of supported devices at once. That is, the models introduced in 2017. At the time of the release of iOS 17, these smartphones will be six years old.
iPadOS 17 will also remove several models from the list of currently supported tablets. We are talking about all devices with SoC A11 Bionic or older, but with the exception of the sixth and seventh generation iPad with A10 Fusion, as well as the second generation iPad Pro with A10X Fusion.
It is worth noting that iPhones and iPads equipped with platforms from A5 to A11 are subject to a bootloader vulnerability that Apple cannot fix.
