The iconic skin of the Winamp player was put up for auction

In the fall of 2021, it became known about the restart of Winamp – and recently the owners of the player announced the sale of its original interface. Or rather, the ownership rights to it in the trending NFT format. In addition, almost two thousand more original covers of the once legendary application will go under the hammer.

Trading on the OpenSea site will last until May 22. In addition to the famous cover, the company will put up for auction another 1997 tokens (100 lots of 19 skins and 97 individual ones) created by twenty digital artists. In addition, the developers announced the acceptance of works of other users who will receive 20% of the proceeds from the sale of each token.

You can send your application until April 15, and the new catalog will be published on May 18. Proceeds from the sale of NFTs will go to the foundation of the company, which promises to donate them to charitable foundations. Winamp’s restart date has yet to be announced.
