7th Pay Commission: The government has given good news to the government employees on the new year. A 4 percent increase in dearness allowance has been announced. The Dearness Allowance Hike was announced on January 1 and the government said that it will be implemented with immediate effect. This means that this increased DA will be considered effective from January 1, 2023.
The decision to increase the dearness allowance by 4 percent has been taken by the Tamil Nadu government headed by Chief Minister MK Stalin. Now the DA of these employees has been increased from 34 percent to 38 percent. The government told that about 16 lakh employees will benefit from this. The Chief Minister said that the decision has been taken after considering the representation of government employees.
This much will be spent on the government
The Chief Minister said that the government had considered hiking the DA as a ‘New Year’s gift’. Its benefit will be given equally to all government employees. He said that this decision of the government will cost Rs 2,359 crore annually.
This state also increased DA
Recently, on December 30, the Odisha government of Naveen Patnaik had announced a 4 percent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief. This announcement was made for the employees and pensioners of the state. In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, it was said that this increase will be considered effective from July 1, 2022 for pensioners and employees.
Employees of Tripura also benefit
Similarly, 12 percent dearness allowance was announced for the employees and pensioners of Tripura. After this increase made by the state government on December 27, instead of 8 percent, 20 percent dearness allowance and dearness relief will be given to the employees and pensioners. At the same time, the DA of government employees is 38 percent at present, which is effective from July 2022.
