Samsung Electronics has introduced a multifunctional device called The Freestyle. The Korean manufacturer is positioning the novelty as a unique portable projector.
In addition to the usual functions of a projector, the device can work as a smart speaker and light. The projector weighs 830 grams and is installed on a stand that can be rotated 180 degrees, which allows you to project the image to any surface. As Samsung explains, users can project video onto a table, floor, walls, or even ceiling – no separate screen is required.
Simon Sung, Executive Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing, Visual Displays, Samsung Electronics, emphasized:
The Freestyle is a one-of-a-kind projector that offers maximum flexibility. It can reproduce content in any space and exactly as it is convenient for the user. “
The projector is equipped with auto focus, auto alignment, and auto keystone correction functions. A high-quality image is provided with a diagonal of up to 100 inches.
To power the projector, external batteries with USB-PD support and a power of 50W / 20V and above can be used. What’s more, the Freestyle is the first portable projector that, thanks to a special adapter, can be connected to a standard E262 socket. Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2 are supported, the speaker power is 5W.
The Freestyle supports smart TV features including a web browser, streaming services, wireless content streaming from an Android and iOS mobile phone, and voice control via Alexa and Bixby.
In Russia The Freestyle will be on sale in February this year. The US is already accepting pre-orders for $ 900.
