The first Russian aircraft made a flight on biofuel

The flight was made on the new Airbus A320 Neo from Toulouse, from the plant where the aircraft was built, and arrived at Domodedovo. The plane was fueled with a mixture of classic aviation and SAF biofuel. The share of organic matter was 10%. On this voyage, CO2 emissions were reduced by 7%, or 1.7 tons.

The flight on biofuel was recognized as successful and promising. “This is an opportunity for us to demonstrate that such flights are real and that they are the future of sustainable air travel. It is extremely important to develop a legal framework that will allow SAF to be certified in Russia and used on regular flights, ”noted Tatiana Fileva, S7 Director.
